TSARZARDAR-TSAKHARZARD
Now I want to tell you about one of my favourite Armenian holidays-TSAKHARZARD.Every year a week before Easter I take part in its celebration with my mother.
TSARZARDAR{the tree decorating}is the penultimate Sunday holiday a week before Easter.The major part of the ceremony is devoted to the awakening of spring.It’s the holiday of youth. Girls and boys dress in their best,boys uproot willows and either decorate the branches with candles,or pretend to’fight’ each other with the branches.The game ends when all the branches are broken.Then the children either pick the candles to take home and safeguard for the whole year,or gather the broken branches to take home and burn them.Usually people wear wreaths made of willow branches on their heads that are blessed in church.
I usually bless willow branches,take them home, keep them a year round,then burn them,ashes throw to the wind.It is believed that this will protect the crop and fruit trees from storms and winds.I greatly enjoy this holiday.Both teenagers and grown-ups are walking along the streets with willow wreaths on their heads singing songs,having fun.
Traditional dishes served during TSAKHARZARD are sweets,cakes,nut pakhlava{sheet dough pastry},aghands{salted and roasted wheat and poppy seeds}and dishes cooked with greens.TSAKHARZARD is also an occasion to plant trees,celebrate engagements and marriages and give gifts to friends and family.It’s a beautiful spring holiday.

DEVELOPING a MEDIA EDUCATIONAL LANGUAGE

I’d like to introduce you a very interesting and short video about doll Barbie. I think it’s a good example for module#5

At first I saw only some bright and colorful dancing dolls-my Reptilian brain spoke.Then I heard rather gay rhythmitic song,that gave me happy feelings-the LimbricBrain began its workThe Neocortex started its work and I couldn’t stop watching the video.The dolls looks gay,I could notice that each Barbie is wearing its own suit for roller skating,skateboarding.The words of the song are easy to remember so I began singing with the girls that are helping Barbie-dolls dance.I,too, have dolls,2 or 3 Barbies among them but now I’d like someone present me Barbie on roller skates.

1 Symbols
We see dolls,roller skates of good quality and ,of course,well-covered yard that doesn’t damage from skateboarding,roller skating;well-looked after yard around dwelling houses.
2 Fear
While skating golls are jumping over 3-4 stairs.It’s dangerous,legs and arms can be hurt.
3 Name calling
During all the video dolls and girls who are helping them call for joining them:’Come on! Skate with me,skate with us.’
4 Simple solution
While watching this video you want to run to the shop,buy the rollers, put them on and join these happy dolls
5 Repetition
I’ve learned the song that is repeated ..

First of all I’d like to thank Model-3 creators for the simple and clear explanation of three part brain.This brief explanation enjoyed me greatly,besides I got an excellent mark for it on my Biology.
I have chosen the video:’ Nature:sunsets and risings’for its beautiful pictures and pleasant music.At first I was impressed by picture colors,by different sun colors and unusual shots.Being very quiet and familiar these pictures make me relax,think and dream.Then I began enjoying the music,pleasant and rhythmic.When I began to watch the video for the second time I wanted to imagine myself on board the ship or among the palms somewhere in Africa or in South America.Besides I remembered my summer trip round Europe-2008.When we were crossing the Mediterranean to Italy I coudn’t sleep.So did our group leader.So we went on board the ferry and watched the sunrise.It was an unforgettable.striking and terrific view:the blue sea water and a young light yellow sun that was slowly turning into bright orange.I’d like my Dotcom friends watch this video themselves and enjoy it as I did.
The end of this video rolic is unusual and frightened.It took me 2-3 days to think over it,get the answer to my question’why’ and I got a sudden answer:this terrible mask warns us,asks to be careful with nature,our environment,not to spoil it.I quite agree with the video director.
I’d like my Dotcom friends watch this video themselves and enjoy it as I did.

MY PERSONAL MEDIA INVENTORY

I’m Araksya.All media ways broaden our minds,our circle of friends. I use the Internet because with its help I can show my new friends my interests,pictures,send them my favourite songs,tell them about myself,communicate with them.We have different programs here that help me to make friends,discuss.With Web technology I can download music,pictures,make reports in History,Literature,Geography and,by the way, get good marks.

I like to read books about teenagers,novels,adventures.Now I’m reading ‘Jane Eyre’by Ch.Bronte,then I’m going to have’Gone with the Wind’by M.Mitchel.

2 Newspapers and magazines
I read a Rusian issue’Komsomolskaya Pravda’.It’s a weekly newspaper that tells about everything:politics, sport,music,science,there are also crosswords.I read magazines for young girls,too,weekly’Efir’.
4 Music
I finished a musical school 2 years ago,piano,but I play very seldom.I like to listen to classical,modern music,Armenian and foreign variety songs.At present I listen to songs of American band Evanescent.Ican listen to Santa Luchia and Moon Sonate 1000 times and not get tired.
5 Video games
I play them very seldom, Zuma

6 Computers
Usually I use 1-2 hours a day:prepare reports,have new information,speak to my people who live in Russia,to my friends,help Mother to communicate with her friends and do her work,send photos,listen to music,watch films,download songs,etc.

7 Internet
I spend about 1 hour a day on the Internet:chat in Odnaklassniki,read interesting articles;use such programs as Google,Yahoo,Yander,I.C.Q.,Mail.ru.

1 I’m Araksya,I'm 14.I was born in Yerevan on September22,1994.I study at school 69 after A.D.Sakharov and I’m very proud of it as he was a very wonderful scientist and progressive thinker.He was a brave man and was never afraid of telling the truth..I like such people.I’m neither shy nor quiet.I like to watch people,nature especially when it awakens.My friends say that I’m patient though I can’t say so.My hobby is dancing,but I like reading,traveling,too.Ig necessary I can be a leader.



2 At school,in our daily life all of us have to do with books, newspapers,CDs,MP3,digital cameras,even a microphone..The latter is my favourite one,I have one at home and sometimes play with it I enjoy greatly,my parents laugh and clap me.I use my digital camera,have many shots made during my trips round Europe,to Russia,at school parties,We also got many books and I read them but not much.now .So media gives me a lot of fun and I can’t imagine today’s life without it.

3 As all other countries Armenia is a country with its problems connected with different fields of our life.I see them in building multi- storeyed houses in the very centre of my city, in different cafes in our beautiful parks,in selling fruit and vegetables in the streets.This all changes the look of my home town.Of course,we have problems at school. I think there are no unsolved problems.I’m sure I can take part in solving them.I’m ready.
4 I’m the only daughter in my family and I want to have lots of friends from all over the world.I love meeting people from other countries.So I think DOTCOM program will help me to make new friends.I’ll master my Englishand we can communicate.exchange our ideas with Azerbadjan and American teenagers.

Tamara Gverdtsiteli

Hi,my friends!It’s Jan.28 today.There is a very nice concert on TV and my favourite singer takes part.She’s Tamara Gverdtsiteli,the wonderful Georgian singer.She has an unusual pretty voice,I’d say it’s a bit trembling.By the way, my mother likes her,too and we both enjoy her singing.T.Gverdts.has a son,she brings him up with her mother,they live in Moscow.She’s not only a good mother but also a good devoted daughter.She’very beautiful,always dressed in a good taste..I just admire Gverdtsitely and such her songs as’Vivat,the King’,’The Long Lasting Love’.
T.Gverdtsiteli began her singing career at the beginning of the 70th/20th cent./as a participiant of the children’s variety’Msiuri.’Tamara is a winner of various international competitions today:in Sopot,San-Remo.She was the first prize-winner of the international competition’Gold Orfeus’ in Sofia.Gverdtsiteli sings in many languages.I want especially mention the way she sings,exp
ressively and artistically.Michel Legrand/France/made undoubtedly influence upon her.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS,2008

Sardiniya,my Italian friends
Last summer I made an unforgettable tour round Europe.My hobby is dancing,I dance 9 years in Cultural center of Sofi Devoyan.Our group’s name is ‘Sogay’.So at last my parents allowed me to go on a tour, before 2008 they thought that I was too small for it.I felt happy when the. bus started:at last I was on the bus among my friends.
We visited 12 countries,their capitals,crossed about 7 seas:France,Italy,Greece,Austria,Norway,Denmark,Holland,Hungary,Germany,Turkey,Gergia .We had concerts in 4 countries.Just imagine we had a parade and walked with Armenian flag on roses under our feet.In Sardinia we danced with the young Italians,in Holland the Armenias gathered and danced with us.
We had a lot of fun on the bus,joked, played tricks on each other.I learned to be alone,of course I missed my parents but never told them about it,I even cried We could use a mobile not often.There was a TVset on the bus,we took our favourite films,cartoons,discos with us.You see what an important role media played in our bus life.Sometimes our drivers got tired of loud music.I’ve got a lot of impressions,pictures,I even visited Korsika,Napoleon museum,stood on Juletta’s balcony.
